Drummer Tommy Ramone, the last surviving founding member of punk rock band The Ramones, died Friday in New York, said Saturday the group on social networks.
"We are sad to announce the death of Tommy (Erdelyi) Ramone, a founding member of the group, the company said on his Twitter account.
Born in Budapest, Tommy Ramone, whose real name Tamás Erdélyi, died of cancer at age 62, reported Variety magazine.
