Mariana Da
Cruz sang bossa nova in a Lisbon club when he met the director and hacker
electro-industrial Ane H, guitarist and percussionist Oliver Husmann Pit Lee.
Done bossa; São Paulo singer then plunged into a completely different culture
broth.
With his
Swiss colleagues, it incorporates elements of musica popular brasileira,
particularly the samba funk. Unless the Portuguese expression, the rest of this
scattergun approach has nothing to do with Brazil priori Da Cruz touches the
new wave, synth punk, kuduro (Electro Angola), rock rumba, reggae, disco and
more.
Four albums
testify to this mixing, the very generous Disco E Progresso, designed in two
parts: the "bright" is light, disco funk or even reggae dancehall;
the "dark" is sought, deeper, darker actually.
